Our Story
How We Met
Braden and Makayla’s love story began sophomore year of college at one of her sorority date parties—though they actually showed up with different dates (oops). Braden still swears Makayla made the first move, but Mak insists it was definitely him. Either way, it worked.
The Engagement
In December of 2025, they took a trip to their favorite place—New York City. After all this time, Braden wanted to plan something unforgettable. And what’s more romantic than proposing at the Rockefeller Center ice rink during Christmas time? Only one tiny problem: Braden couldn’t ice skate to save his life.
Secretly, for four months before the trip, he practiced whenever he could sneak away. So when the big moment came, Makayla had no idea what was coming. Then, as the rink magically cleared and their song began to play, Braden took her hand and asked if she wanted to skate. A few laps (and one viral slip-and-fall) later—she said yes.
